The Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways has released the short notification for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 under CEN No. 02/2026. A total of 6,565 vacancies have been announced for Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III posts across various railway zones in India. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal rrbapply.gov.in from 30 June 2026 to 29 July 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for RRB Technician 2026
Educational Qualification
Technician Grade-I Signal:
- B.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation from a recognized university, OR
- B.Sc. with a combination of the above subjects, OR
- 3-year Diploma in Engineering in relevant streams, OR
- Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) in relevant streams
Technician Grade-III:
- Matriculation / SSLC / 10th pass plus ITI certificate from NCVT / SCVT recognized institutes in relevant trades, OR
- Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in related trades
Relevant ITI Trades: Electrician, Fitter, Electronics Mechanic, Wireman, Mechanic, Welder, Turner, Refrigeration & AC, and other related trades as per detailed notification.

Age Relaxation: PwD candidates get 10 years relaxation plus category relaxation. Ex-Servicemen get defence service period plus 3 years. Jammu & Kashmir domiciled candidates (1980-1989) get 5 years relaxation. Railway staff with minimum 3 years service get relaxation up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC-NCL), 45 years (SC/ST).

Selection Process
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 multiple choice questions for 100 marks. Duration 90 minutes. Negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates who qualify the CBT will be called for document verification.
- Medical Examination: As per prescribed medical standards (B-1 for Grade-I Signal).
